Millie Rader comes from a long line of Lucerne Valley residents. Her family has been active in the community since the early 1940’s. Millie began writing in high school when an English teacher taught her the love of journaling. In 1999 Millie began writing for The Lucerne Valley Leader.
Several years ago Millie was asked by the local Economic Development Association to compile the history of Lucerne Valley.
Writing and publishing “Lucerne Valley a Town of Wild West Character(s)” took six years to complete from start to finish. Millie gives credit to: The Creator, Bill and Jan Lembright, Lorraine Cross, Allen Stanfield, Sam Clark, Barbara LaGrange and Donna Bytheway for inspiration and motivation to finish the book.
All proceeds from the sale of her book, “Lucerne Valley a Town of Wild West Character(s)” will go to the Lucerne Valley Museum association building fund.
